About Nicola Sala Conservatory of Music
The Nicola Sala Conservatory of Music, Benevento, Italy, is an high music education
institute; It was founded in 1988. Actually in this Institute work 108 teachers
and there 1016 students.
The conservatory has 2 levels of high education: 3 years (called Triennio)
Level 6 EQF (European Qualifications Framework), and 2 years (called Biennio)
- Level 7 EQF, 2 years.
The Level 6 is based on a credit system like in Europe (ECTS). You need 180
credits to obtain your “Diploma Accademico di I Livello” (Academic first level
degree). The level 7 is normally a specialization of your principal matter or
it is possible to choose a new music course. In any case you need 120 ECTS
credits to obtain your “Diploma Accademico di II Livello” (Academic second
level degree).The Benevento Conservatory of Music is famous in Italy for the
importance that we give to the artistic production. In 2016 our Institution was
the the first in Italy for number of concerts (345 in one year) and public
music events. Every department of the conservatory organize his musical annual
proposal and many students and teachers partecipate to concerts, masterclass,
seminar. We have the Symphonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, the Choir and
many chamber music ensemble, included classic music, jazz music and, most
recently, pop music. The Pop Department has been recently founded and includes
all principal instrument and pop composition and arranging and pop sing.
In the last 3 years the Conservatory has been very committed itself to develop
international projects and collaborations, in the framework of Erasmus+ but
also with indipendent projects that developed important contacts and events
with countries like Canada, Poland, Colombia and Turkey.
